The Biblical Mitzvah of Sefirat HaOmer is a translation from the Hebrew words which means The Counting of the Omer. In this ancient ritual, we verbally count each of the forty-nine days between Yom Tov of Passover The Day of Salvation that marks the beginning of Sefirat HaOmer to the holy day of Shavuot that celebrates The Receiving of the Torah.
The commandment for counting the Omer is recorded within the Torah in Leviticus 23:1516 and Deuteronomy 16:9-10

The Hebrew Biblical ritual of counting seven weeks derives from the Torah commandment to count forty-nine days beginning from the day that the Omer, a sacrifice containing an omer measure of barley, was first harvested in the Land of Israel. This counting continued until the day before the special offering called was sacrificed on Temple Mount in the holy city of Jerusalem to honor God on The Holy Day of Shavuot.
The practice of Sefirat HaOmer takes us back to the time of the Twelve Tribes in Can'an. Then farmers, families, and tribes journeyed from all over Eretz Yisrael in a holiday festival celebration of praying, singing, dancing, and rejoicing, pilgrimed on Shavuot to the Temple in The Holy City Of Jerusalem to bless, worship, and honor God with the Land's first harvest from The Holy Land Of Israel
Beit Hamikdash was a sanctuary of Holy of Holies, where God's Sacred Presence dwelled. In this Temple of holiness, Sacred worship prayers blended with a symphony of rituals, scents, and sacrifices. The ceremonies on the altar, the candles flames on holy gold menorah, the shofars blasts, and the mystic incense offering formed a spiritual portal, connecting Earth to higher elevated Holy dimensions of Divinity.
This Omer Counting Mitzvah is encoded with an elevated idea in its core. By counting and honoring the Biblical alignment to God, the Torah, and the Holy Land of Israel, Am Yisrael observes this ancestral ritual and affirms our legacy's tribalhood spirit. The Omer Counting Mitzvah is an opening to cultivate and shine Sacred qualities by deepening our connection with the power of Divine Source through rituals, mitzvahs, prayers, and traditions we inherited from our ancestors during the Exodus.

Nicolas I turned to Orit to assist me in the creation of a so-called Kimpetbrivl, an amulet written by a Sofer to protect a mother and her newborn child from evil. This kind of amulets was very common in 19th century eastern Europe. Orit, Sofer Yehuda and me cooperated in the research of the proper texting, a journey both beautiful and interesting. Dr. Christine I am a children's therapist at a Jewish Non Profit agency in Dallas. We have several children who do not speak english and just moved from Israel . I am looking for mandalas for them to color to help them relax at school or to color in their therapy sessions. Can you recommend a coloring book for Jewish mandalas.
